By a lake in northern Punjab, I saw this great egret, gazing into the distance with a vigilant expression. At first, I wasn't sure of its name, but a few friends in relevant fields told me it’s a "great egret." Its sharp eyes and dignified posture seemed to hold stories waiting to be told.
